Falcon ( named Isaiah!!)  I made this for Ian's 50th Birthday.  He loves Birds, and has a special interest in birds of prey.  The Falcon seemed a suitable subject to acknowledge a special Birthday, and give it a sense of 'majesty'.

This is my picture for the Capability Brown exhibition at Leeds Castle.  It was the first time I had put a piece of my work into a display, especially of this magnitude, and the embroidery took me out of my comfort zone!!  It helped me to 'value' myself,  grow as an embroiderer, and understand the importance of 'pushing the boat out', in order to grow.  I valued all the help and support I was given along the way, which helped my own journey.
The Orchids were a present to celebrate Ian's 60th Birthday.  Ian is a Botanist, and they are his preferred wild flower.  He searches for them when in season, wherever we might be, and his joy at their discovery, is lovely to see!
This is the Sampler I did for Zachary, to celebrate his birth. All our grandchildren have their own, and our children a Marriage sampler.  As Zach was born and lives in Abu Dhabi, I wanted  to acknowledge that living in two very different countries and cultures, is part of his own story as he grows up, and so documented this in a tangible way.  It also celebrates Dan and Wendy's love of the sea, with the boat and the fish, and the idea that this, too, can be part of the story.
