The postcards project was set up as a “follow on” challenge from the Travelling Books project.  Each month we have been working to a different theme to make an embroidered “postcard” measuring 150x100mm (6x4″).  Members who wanted to take part placed their work into a secret bag at the relevant  branch meeting, with the finished pieces being picked at random in a “lucky dip” fashion.

Below are photographs of some of the postcards that were produced.

Our first month was September and the theme was “trees”.

Octobers’ theme was “counted thread technique”.

In November we worked on the theme of “Christmas”.

Here are some of the postcards based on Decembers’ “seascape” theme.

Throughout January we stitched using “hearts” as our theme, ready for our February meeting.

Our final theme was “Architecture”.
